Hi y'all! (I was feeling Paula Dean-ish for a moment there!) I decided that I needed to get crack-a-lackin' on a wedding album for our friends. I would like to have this album finished in time for Christmas. Our friends were married this past April and it was such a beautiful ceremony. They are crazy about each other and I hope they LOVE this album.
Her color scheme was purple so that's what I'm trying to work with. I decided to go with Bo Bunny's "Peacock Lane". The mix of other colors with the purple will keep the album from being too monochromatic. And not to mention, it won't get boring for me to work on!
I made the lollipop flower using solid cardstock in complimenting colors. These little lovelies are soooooo ridiculously easy to make! All I did was cut some mildly misshapen circles, scrunch up the edges, stacked them, and stuck a brad through the center. I glued a flower center from Prima to the brad and accented the edges with Stickles. This is my first attempt at a "do-it-yourself" flower and if I do say so myself, it came out pretty darn...well....pretty!
The black swirly details around the edges are transparent ATC's from 7 Gyspies that I cut up. I used a punch to punch the scalloped circles and painted them with some Tim Holtz crackle paint and went over it again with Glimmer Glam in "mermaid". It added such a cool effect to the circles. When the light hits them just right, they kinda look like fiberglass! It was a nice an unexpected look that really made the circles pop. The blingin' flourishes are by ZVA Creative and Prima. I'm sure everyone recognizes the bingo card as Jenni Bowlin and the black glitter flourishes are Making Memories. I especially like how the black flourish near the top kind of represents an "infinity" symbol.
Other supplies used are Prima flower centers and alphas, Distress Inkpad "black soot", chipboard heart is by Chatter Box, and doilies are unknown.
Thanks for stopping by and seeing my latest work. As always, I appreciate your comments and your time!
