Ski Brighton 'map'

Good morning peoples!  I hope all of you have been able to stay warm over the last week.  I can't complain about the weather here in SoCal.  It's been *cough* *ahem* BEAUTIFUL.  It's been a bit cold (temps in the 50s and 60s) and windy (Santa Ana's) but sunny.  Okay.  I'm done bragging now.  ;)

Speaking of cold and snow, check out the page I submitted for the Twisted Sketches design team call.  The twist we had to use was "map" and I figured I'd use a map of the runs we boarded at the world-famous Brighton Ski Resort in Utah.

This photo was taken at the bottom of the beginner run and it was snowing!  It was just so serene and peaceful.  The snow was pure powder so my bum was thankful!  Amazingly, Brighton isn't that big of "tourist" ski location; it's where the locals go.  I love it how quiet it was and how free it felt.

I used BoBunny's "Midnight Frost" line and alphas from Maya Road.  I also outlined the pattern on the dark blue paper using a white Signo pen in order to add visual interest to the page.  It's hard to see in this photo, but the alphas are painted with acrylic paints from Making Memories and Folk Art then glittered using Doodlebug's Sugar Coat glitter powders.

In case you're wondering, I was invited to do another 6-month term with Twisted Sketches and I look forward to seeing what the new team comes up with.  Come check us out and let us inspire you...with a twist!
