Me & Gramps (Sketch 089)

Good morning everyone!  I hope you all are enjoying your shortened work week.

Today, that latest sketch is live over at Twisted Sketches.  This week's twist is "pins"....which I almost forgot to use in this page!!

This page holds special sentiment for me.  My dad passed away in 2004.  The photo is of him and my oldest, Madison.  She is the only grandkid to have had a chance to meet him...and this is one of the only photos I have.

Me & Gramps (Sketch 089 'pins')

I used My Little Shoebox's "Harmony" line.  My friend, Dawn, sent them some time ago and I was just saving them until I came across the perfect photo for them.  I definitely found the photo.  I just love this page and I will definitely be putting it in a frame; it's "frameworthy"!

Here are a few close ups show the details.

I absolutely LOVE using pop-dots on projects.  They just add the perfect amount of dimension.

To add some visual yumminess, I highlighted the doll and the flowers with some stickles.  Who doesn't love a little sparkle?  The alphas are by Doodlebug and I used part of a felt border from WRMK.  That border has been in my stash for 2 years!  It needed to be used!!

I tucked a couple Maya Road straight pins into the "hair" of the kokeshi doll.  Yes, I will say....I almost forgot to incorporate the twist all together!  But I think it turned out great.  I love how the just added "that perfect touch" to the sticker (which is pop-dotted up off the paper).

Thanks for taking a look at my latest.  If you are in a rut, need some inspiration or a challenge, or just want to try something different, please check us and the amazing Anam out at Twisted Sketches.

Also, remember there is a WEEKEND LONG crop going on this week at A Cherry on Top.  Check us out over there for fun, shenanigans, games, challenges, points, and prizes!
