Li'l Darlin' (Sketch #067)

Li'l Darlin' (Sketch #067 'button')

Here is the latest, greatest, and one of the most frustrating pages I have done!  LOL!  This page was truly a LABOR of love!  I ruined 3 great papers and eventually came up with this idea for my rendition of this week's Twisted Sketch!  I must say, I LOVE the end product!  I love how cheery and happy this page turned out.

The photo is of my youngest daughter, Julia, playing at my cousin's house!  She is a huge bouncy house and had so much fun.  I love how sweet, innocent, and happy this photo feels.  This week's twist was "button", an item I hardly EVER use!  I knew I wanted to push the limits a bit with this sketch but wasn't sure how.  When I see this page, I can't wait to find a frame for it and hang it up.  The plan is to do one for each of my 3 other children and hang them.

Here are some close ups of the detail this page has.  I used Cosmo Cricket's "DeLovely" line for the background and the matting of the photo.  The roses are Prima and I love how the soft color and texture just emphasize the softness of the photo.  The mini roses were a gift from my good friend, Dawn, and purchased through A Million Memories.  When I took a step back to look at the page, I realized that I needed LEAVES that had a FLAIR!  I got these leaves as part of the "Berry Sweet" line from K & Company and the transparencies are from Me & My Big Ideas.  I spiced up my Prima felt strip with some awesomely vivid acrylic paint from Adirondack, "Twilight Purple".   The alphas are glittered up using Doodlebug Sugar Coats and are by American Crafts.  Gotta LOVE the versatility and fun look of Thickers!  The buttons were perfect "fillers" and the sad part is that I didn't even put a small dent in my button stash!

Thanks for dropping by and checkin' out my work!  Please come visit the rest of the Twisted Sisters and let us inspire you....with a twist! Happy crafting!
