Hi everyone! I've been a bit MIA lately because of my darling and sharing children! They shared their colds and flu with me! As a friend of mine said, "Sharing is caring right?!" I'm back up and at 'em today, though not at 100% yet. I did manage to eek out a page today though!
Janet over at ACOT is hosting a heritage challenge this month and I thought to myself, "No time like the present to scrap a little bit of amazing history!" There is a bit of twist this month...love. I decided to put a maternal spin on the twist and used a photo of my great grandmother with her mother, my great great grandmother! How amazing is it to have a photo like this? Of course, the photo on the page is a scanned copy of the original, but still!
I used Pink Paislee's "Sweetness" papers and K & Company's "Spring Blossom" die cuts and "Life Journey" paper. The trim is Websters Pages "Bloomers" and AMM vintage trims. My flowers I used are by Recollections. To keep with the "vintage" feel I wanted this page to have, I chalked my edges with ColorBox Cat's Eyes chalk pad in dark brown. I love lace on heritage pages so I used a Martha Stewart border punch on my layered papers. I think Pink Paislee's "Sweetness" line definitely makes "vintage" a lot less intimidating. These papers have been some of the easiest to work with! Love 'em!!
These are some close ups of the details and textures. I just LOVED the sentiment on that die cut. It reads, "For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains." I thought that was just perfection for this page, especially since my great grandmother was a big part of my childhood and adolescence and she is missed terribly.
Anyway, thanks for stopping on by!
